Anne-Christine Johnson's ex-husband, Shaun Hardy, was regarded as a person of interest in the case, but not a suspect in her disappearance, according to League City Police.

The former couple had a volatile and often violent relationship until June 2015, when both filed protective orders against one another.

Hardy claimed to have seen Johnson on Dec. 8 in the company of an unidentified man in a white sedan.

Hardy, through an attorney, has refused further interviews with League City police.

Original Story: LEAGUE CITY, TX — The ex-husband of a woman who was reported missing on Dec. 8 is being considered as a person of interest by law enforcement officials.

Shaun Hardy, who claims that Anne-Christine Johnson, 30, was at his home on Dec. 8, and said that he saw her leave with a man driving a white sedan, had a turbulent and at times violent relationship with his
ex-wife.

Court records indicate that Hardy filed for divorce from Johnson in October 2014, and in June 2015 both Hardy and Johnson filed protective orders against one another.

According to court records, Johnson alleged that Hardy choked her, hit her with a shotgun, and threatened her with a knife, while Hardy claimed that his ex-wife engaged in conduct that constituted family
violence and was reasonably likely to harass, annoy, alarm, abuse, torment, or embarrass him.

The protective orders were granted by a judge, but canceled a month later, according to court records.

Based on their turbulent history, Hardy is considered a person of interest, but is not a suspect at this time, according to police.

League City Police investigators and search crews from Texas EquuSearch have been looking for Johnson since mid-December, but temporarily suspended their search several days ago to determine how the search parameters should be altered or expanded.

Johnson, who has two children from two marriages, was working as a waitress at Legends Sports Grill in League City.

On Dec. 7, she called in sick, and on the next day was to meet her father for dinner, but she didn’t show up.

Johnson is described as 5-foot-2 and 100 pounds, with blonde and red hair and hazel-green eyes. She has two sons, ages 8 and 5.

Meanwhile, crews have search every square inch of area within a 3-mile radius of where the missing woman was last seen, including a gravel pit on the western edge of League City that borders a wooded
area with thick, dense brush.

Officials are hoping to resume their search early next week.

Anyone with any information about Johnson's whereabouts are asked to call League City police at 281-332-2566.
