Galveston Man Recovering After Being Set On Fire

Police responding to a 911 call found a man burned on his hands and face, and parts of his clothes still burning

GALVESTON, TX — Charges are expected to be filed against a man who lit another man on fire early Tuesday morning.

Police received a 911 call at about 6 a.m. from the victim who said he’d been set on fire in the 500 block of 21st Street.

When police arrived, they found the man suffering for burns to his hands and face, and according to a press release, parts of his clothes were still on fire.

The man was taken to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston and is expected to recovered.

The victim was able to give police the name of the person who lit him on fire, and police expect to make an arrest soon.

The suspect, who has not been identified, could face charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a felony punishable with 5-99 years in prison, if convicted.
