HOUSTON, TX — The weekend is nearly here, and it’s not too early to start planning, or plan to find something to do.
If you’re a fan of Discovery Green, there is always something happening at Houston’s favorite outdoor venue but if you’re a fan of festivals, there are plenty happening this weekend, too.

Fun On The Bay:
Galveston Food & Wine Festival| Galveston, TX | Friday-Saturday| Tickets| For 9 years running premium wine makers have brought their craft to Galveston Island. A portion of the proceeds benefits Galveston College Culinary Arts, Alvin Community College Culinary Arts & The Galveston County Resource and Crisis Center.

San Jacinto Day Battle Reenactment| La Porte, TX| Saturday| Free| It’s a day of fun, education, and entertainment is planned, with music and dance, food vendors, craft demonstrators, a petting zoo, kids' crafts, visiting the reenactors' camps, heritage and history groups, and the Battle Reenactment from 3:00 to 4:15.
Bay Day Festival| Kemah| Saturday 11-4| Free| This one-day celebration presented by the Galveston Bay Foundation and numerous community partners. It is a fun event for families and adults that annually draws more than 5,000 attendees. It’s a day full of music, touch tanks, food,science and marine exhibits, and a scavenger hunt.
Southern Style Gypsy Market| Pasadena Convention Center| Saturday 9-5| Come explore our upscale vintage indoor market. Featuring handmade jewelry, art, antiques, women's and children's boutiques, home and garden dcor, gourmet food and much more.
Enjoying Houston:
Puppies for Breakfast At Market Square| Houston| Saturday 10-3| Free| The Houston Downtown Management District (Downtown District), Neue Creative and Modular Dog announce Puppies for Breakfast, a unique outdoor festival that brings all things dog-centric to Market Square Park in Downtown Houston.This year’s event will include 50 dog industry vendors and artists, a costume contest, an area for four-legged friends to play freely, music and much more. Admission is free and open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation to help a local dog rescue. Food, beer and wine are available for purchase at Niko Niko’s, and some of Houston’s favorite food trucks will also be onsite. Da Camera presents "Wartime Stories,"| Discovery Green| Saturday @ 7:30 p.m.| a moving performance — presenting together two 20th-century masterworks that depict profoundly contrasting experiences of the WWII era — by the renowned clarinetist Joshua Rubin and pianist Sarah Rothenberg, Da Camera artistic and general director, and featuring the St. Lawrence String Quartet.

Earth Day Houston| Houston’s Discovery Green| Sunday noon-6 p.m.| Free| Celebrate reasons to love your world and learn something new too. Discovery Green’s citywide Earth Day celebration is designed to educate, inspire and encourage action. The event features displays, exhibits and booths on topics ranging from alternative energy to recycling methods, a foodie farmers market, Canned Acoustica, recycling and more.
North of the Loop:
Depot Day 2018| Magnolia, TX| Saturday| Located just a few miles north of Tomball in Montgomery County, the Magnolia Depot is hosting its annual fundraiser supporting the Historic Depot building, the Caboose, the Pavilion, Dr. Ware's Office, and the Replica of the first Magnolia Post Office. There is fun for all with barbecue, live/silent auctions, antique tractors, car show, live entertainment, rides for kids, historical museum, historical doctor's office and barber shop, circa 1901, and much more.
Cypress Springs Car Show and Swap Meet| Cypress| Saturday-Sunday| Car Show, Swap Meet & Craft Market Car Show Classes: Classic, Exotic, Imports, Muscle, Modern Muscle, Survivor, Street Rods, Trucks. Spring Time Arts & Crafts Festival in Willis| Willis Town Center| Saturday-Sunday| The Willis Art and Craft Festival will be held on April 21-22, 2018. The exhibitors will be showcasing and selling a great variety of hand-made products including jewelry, paintings, metal work, wooden and knitted toys, ceramics and woodworking, clothing, fountains, pies, candles, bread, soaps, jellies, salsa, yard art, lawn furniture and much more. Come shop unique collections of handmade items. Free admission. Hours: Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10am-5pm.

Shakespeare in the Park| Tomball in Burroughs Park| Friday - Sunday| Free| Shakespeare festival featuring crafts, entertainers, face painting, games, and food trucksSaturday, April 21 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Burroughs Park, located at 9738 Hufsmith Road in Tomball, 77375. Performances of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet take place rain or shine Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. With plenty of action, intrigue, and romance, Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays. Set in Verona, Italy, the play tells the story of teenage lovers kept apart by their feuding families. Don’t miss this lively rendition under the pavilion at Burroughs Park.
