La Marque Police Investigating After Body Is Found In Burning SUV
Police said vehicle identification number had been removed from inside the vehicle.

LA MARQUE, TX -- A vehicle fire in La Marque turned into a possible homicide investigation after a body was discovered inside the burning SUV..
Firefighters were called to the 5600 block of Mitchell Lane at about 6:45 a.m. Friday for a vehicle fire.

Officials arrived and found a what they believe was an early 2000s model Ford Expedition in flames, and the body of an adult person inside the vehicle.
Investigators have not determined if the body was that of a man or a woman yet, or how that person died.

Police said the vehicle identification number had also been removed.
The incident has not yet been ruled a homicide and an investigation is ongoing.
