Man Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison for Stabbing Dog to Death in 2015
Police who found the dog dead said dog had tried to pull knife out with its teeth.

GALVESTON, TX --A Galveston County man was sentenced to seven years in prison last week for stabbing a pit bull puppy to death in 2015.
Damon Lee Dozier, who allegedly had gang affiliations, stabbed the dog on Nov. 3, 2015, and allowed the dog to wander off before calling police and telling them what he’d done.
The dog, named Xena, was found dead several days later in a neighbor’s yard with the knife still embedded in her side.

According to court documents, there were bite marks on the knife handle that indicated the dog tried to remove the knife.
Court documents revealed that Dozier told authorities he’d been using drugs and was angry with Galveston Animal control for taking another dog to be quarantined after it bit a pedestrian, and had also been arguing with his girlfriend, accusing her of loving the dogs more than him, before he stabbed the dog.
