Murdered Clear Lake Woman Is Positively Identified

Police ID the body of a woman found in Clear Lake Park on Tuesday as 25-year old Ashley George. The case remains under investigation.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — Police have released the identity of a woman whose body was found dead on the banks of Clear Lake Tuesday morning.

The woman, identified as 25-year old Ashley George, was found dead at about 6:30 a.m. in Clear Lake Park.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the boat ramp at about 4 a.m. for a suspicious vehicle, and found George's car parked in the parking lot of the park, but George was nowhere near by.

Investigators said the car appeared to have been rummaged through, and after running the plate information they contacted the family.

The family said the car belonged to their daughter, and filed a missing person’s report.

When the sun rose, police found George’s body on the banks of Clear Lake.

Police have not released a cause of death, but a resident nearby reported hearing a gunshot and a woman screaming at about 2 a.m.

However, according to a KPRC report, George died from multiple sharp force injuries, or stab wounds to her head and neck.

The woman’s death remains under investigation.
