Pearland Police Shoot Dog That Attacked Woman

A 20-year old Pearland woman was severely bitten by one of her parents Rottweilers outside their home on Wednesday

PEARLAND, TX — A Pearland Police officer was forced to shoot and kill a dog that was attacking a 20-year old woman outside her parents home

The attack happened just before 4 p.m. in the 11200 block of Edwards Avenue.

Police said when they arrived, the dog continued to act aggressively toward the officer, who was forced to shoot the animal.

The dog, a Rottweiler, according to KHOU report, was taken to animal control to be tested for rabies.

Police were forced to use a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, until the woman could be flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment.

Her injuries were serious, but not life threatening.
