Residents Along Gulf Coast Cleaning Up After Weekend Flooding
Some areas along Galveston Bay Saw 9 Inches of rain on Saturday

LA MARQUE, TX - Residents along the Gulf Coast are still dealing with the rising water from this weekends heavy rains, and the communities along Galveston Bay were hit especially hard as nearly a foot of rain fell on Saturday.
Residents in Texas City and La Marque saw the water rise quickly in their neighborhoods on Saturday when the storm was at its worst.
"It came up so fast and furious it was really scary,"Anthony Urdiales told KPRC. "The water on our
road was so high that whenever a car came by it would send these waves of water right at us. You could feel the waves hitting the house."

La Marque resident Shae Bagot's home was flooded with at least five inches of standing water on her floor over the weekend, and she now finds herself battling Mother Nature's onslaught with brooms, cleaning supplies and space heaters.
Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Watch that was issued on Saturday for Harris, Brazoria, Galveston, Chambers and Liberty counties, remains in effect until at least mid-day Monday as the last wave of rain swept through areas of Houston Monday morning.

The rain is expected to move east and out of the Houston area at the end of the day, ushering in cooler temps in the 30s and 40s by Wednesday.
