Texas City Residents Upset After Finding KKK Recruiting Literature In Front Yard
Flyers were found in front of 17 homes on 27th Avenue tucked into bags of candy: Police
TEXAS CITY, TX — Residents in Texas City are concerned after recruiting flyers for the Ku Klux Klan were disguised in a bag of candy and distributed to 17 homes in the area.
The small bags of candy were tossed on lawns and driveways along 27th Avenue sometime Monday night, officials said. (Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)
Tucked inside the plastic bags of candy was a message written in bold black letters from the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan that read: "Help save our race! Join the best or die like the rest” and “Say No To Cultural Genocide,” KHOU reported.

The find shocked residents living on 27th Avenue.

“I ride these streets all the time and I see multiple kids playing all races playing with (one another),” he said. “I didn’t even think any of that was around here.”
Randy Carr told KRIV he thought it was kids playing a prank, until he called the hotline number that was attached to the flyer.
Marvel Bliss, who has lived on 27th Avenue since 2013, told KPRC she was saddened that someone in her community would distribute such a message of hate.
"It makes me physically sick to think these people were in my neighborhood and on my property where my children play," she said.
The Texas City Police considered the incident a criminal matter and are investigating and plan to file criminal charges.
