Texas Human Remains Believed To Be Family Of 3; Includes Boy, 5

Maya Rivera, Ray Shawn Hudson Sr. and Ray Shawn Hudson Jr. vanished June 10. Relatives say their remains were found in Wharton County.

ANGLETON, TX — Human remains found in Wharton County are believed to be those of a missing Angleton couple and their young son. Three bodies were found in Wharton on Saturday, nearly a week after Maya Rivera, 24, Ray Shawn Hudson Sr., 28, and 5-year-old Ray Shawn Hudson Jr. disappeared from Angleton, media outlets reported.

The family reported her missing Wednesday and their car was found Thursday in Rosenberg, Angleton Police told media outlets. Robert Allen Satterfield, 36, was driving the vehicle and was arrested on drug charges.

KPRC-TV reported that Maya Rivera's employer — she was a physical therapist — called her mother, Frances Rivera, on Thursday when they became worried for her safety.

"My heart hurts so deep. But I can find some sense of peace knowing all 3 of them together now are with God," she wrote.

Frances Rivera added: "I ask myself why? If only they had. ... but that doesn't do any good. It will not change anything."

Exactly where the remains were found — and what condition they were in — weren't immediately known. Wharton is about 60 miles west of Clear Lake and 40 miles west of Angleton.
