Two Pedesetrians Hit, Killed by Motorcycle

Police say two were killed were trying to cross the street along Galveston Seawall, motorcyclist and passenger critically injured in crash

GALVESTON, TX -- Two pedestrians walking along the Galveston Seawall were killed late Thursday night when they were hit by a motorcyclist.

The accident happened at about 10:20 p.m. in the 5200 block of Seawall Boulevard.

Sgt. R. Franco with the Galveston Police Department, said two people were trying to cross the street when they were hit by a motorcycle.

Both died at the scene, and their names have not been released

Franco said the driver of the motorcycle and a passenger were critically injured and are recovering from injuries at a local hospital.

Motorcycle enthusiast began arriving in Galveston Thursday afternoon for the annual Lone Star Rally.

The event, which runs through Nov. 6 , attracts thousands f motorcycle enthusiasts to Galveston Island each year.

It is not known if any of the victims were in Galveston for this event.

The accident is under investigation and charges have not yet been filed.
