• Jerry Dale Hubert (bluebonnetnews.com) — Longtime Cleveland resident Jerry Dale Hubert, Tarkington High School Class of 1981, has passed away at 63, with a Celebration of Life planned at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery on his birthday, Oct. 10, 2026. Family and friends remember his love of travel, animals, and making people laugh, and invite the community to honor his memory this fall. 
• Lewis Buckner Hightower, Jr. (bluebonnetnews.com) — Cleveland is mourning Lewis “Bubba” Hightower Jr., a longtime resident, Army veteran, and elevator mechanic remembered for his humor, storytelling, and love of hunting. Visitation is Thursday evening, April 23, at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, with funeral services Friday morning and burial to follow at Wells Cemetery in Cleveland.
