Food Bank Hires New Director Of Programs

The Montgomery County Food Bank named Mike Painter of The Woodlands as its new director of programs Tuesday.

CONROE, TX — The Montgomery County Food Bank announced its new director of programs Tuesday.

Mike Painter of The Woodlands has been appointed to the position, where he will develop and manage relationships with partner agencies, including schools and senior care facilities, and oversee the food bank's programs with the goal of increasing food equity for Montgomery County residents experiencing food insecurity.

Painter replaces Faith Lane, who was the director of programs for Montgomery County Food Bank for three years.

"I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience to Montgomery County Food Bank by helping to expand the great work that it already does," Painter said in a news release. "The food bank has a terrific team in place, and I cannot wait to join them in serving the residents of Montgomery County."

Painter recently was the president and general counsel for three Comfort Keepers franchises, which provide care, transportation and support for seniors living independently at home. In this role, he ensured compliance with Texas Department of State Health Services regulations, managed the franchises's finances and spearheaded involvement in the community.

Prior to his stint at Comfort Keepers, Painter worked on health care litigation at a legal defense firm in Texas, assisting hospitals, physicians and nursing homes, among other clients.

Painter, who graduated from the University of Alabama and earned a juris doctorate from the Texas Tech University School of Law, is a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church and volunteers as the deputy commander for cadets for the Civil Air Patrol. Painter and his wife, Marjorie, have two sons, John Wyatt and Travis.
