Patton Village Man Arrested For Arson After Home Burns

Aaron Phillips is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $150,000 bond for arson, and could face a homicide charge.

CONROE, TX — A man who went missing after his room mates body was found in a near the burned out home they shared, has been charged with arson.

Aaron Phillis, 30, was arrested early Saturday, and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail with his bond set at $150,000.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 17200 block of South Lakeview Drive in Patton Village on Sept. 27.

After the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered a mattress in the backyard that was covered with blood.

The next day, investigators found the body of 37-year old Jason Gilbert, who lived at the home with Philips.

Investigators said they believe the fire was set intentionally, according to a KHOU report, but Phillips in only charged with arson at this time.
