1. Corpus Christi's water crisis offers lessons for Texas (texastribune.org) — Corpus Christi narrowly avoided a severe water crisis this year, and local experts say the city must quickly firm up long-term supplies like recycling, groundwater management, and seawater desalination. At a recent panel, leaders warned that reservoir levels dropped dangerously low, urged taking water decisions out of politicians' hands, and called for stronger planning before the next drought hits.

The offshore design responds to bay concerns, replaces an earlier smaller plan, and comes as City Council debates other desal options amid easing but persistent drought worries.
