One of the great things about Dallas, Texas, is that there is always something to do. No matter if you are local, or just visiting, there are plenty of sights to see, foods to eat, and culture to absorb. Whether you are new in town, just passing by, or a permanent resident, here a few places that you should check in the heart of D-Town.
Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
If you are looking for some fresh air, take a stroll in Dallas’s Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Throughout the 66 acres, you will find all sorts of beautiful flowers, waterfalls, and fantastic scenery. The gardens attract all sorts of visitors from couples to families. In the gardens, you will also find a Garden Café and plenty of picnic areas in case you want to bring your own lunch.

If you visit Dallas on a particularly hot day, a great way to cool down is to visit the Dallas Museum of Art. This institute is home to more than 23,000 works of art. In its permanent collection, you will find a variety of well-known artist from Picasso to Rodin to Monet to Gauguin. The galleries are always changing, but you will always find new pieces encompassing a wide span of culture from Greek and Roman to African, American, Asian, and Western European.

Want a breathtaking view of Dallas? Visit the Reunion Tower! Standing at 561 feet tall, visitors can enjoy a 360 view of the city as the platform revolves if sightseeing has made you hungry than no worries! At the top of the tower, you will find Wolfgang Pucks’ Five Sixty, a restaurant known for its refined Asian fare and celebrity chef.
Texas Horse Park at the Trinity
Channel your inner cowboy and at the Texas Horse Park. On this 302-acre park, you can learn more about equestrian history, take riding lessons, and go on trail rides. While you ride along the Trinity River, you will get to know the city the traditional way- on horseback!
One of the most interesting attractions of Dallas is Klyde Warren Park. What makes this park so unusual is that it sits over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. You’ll find that the park is in the middle of uptown Dallas and has plenty of things to do! Along the perimeter you’ll find a plethora of food trucks filled with handheld food perfect to accompany you on your walk.
The park is well loved by children who love playing in the amphitheater and visiting the storytelling tree. You’ll also find a putting green, chess games, and ping pong for those of you who are a kid at heart.
