Officials blame state property tax caps and public safety funding priorities, while exploring options like park billboards and deeper cuts for partners such as the Dallas Zoo and arboretum.

Proposed Dallas program aims to interrupt violence among city's youth (wfaa.com) — Dallas officials are weighing a $300,000 contract with Lone Star Justice Alliance to deploy “violence interrupter” services for at-risk youth ages 12–24. 4. Dallas exoneree Richard Miles honored at National Civil Rights Museum (fox4news.com) — Dallas native Richard Miles, who was wrongfully imprisoned and later exonerated, is being honored in a major new expansion at the National Civil Rights Museum for his work helping formerly incarcerated people re-enter society. Through his Dallas-based nonprofit Miles of Freedom, he’s supported nearly 4,000 people after prison and is credited with saving taxpayers hundreds of millions in re-incarceration costs.
