2. Dallas City Council to review Atmos rate request after settlement trims gas bill increase (dallasnews.com) — Dallas officials have negotiated a settlement with Atmos Energy that would reduce a proposed natural gas rate hike for city customers, and the City Council will vote on it May 27. The trimmed increase is more than $4 million lower than Atmos’ original request, which would have added about $11 a month to typical residential bills starting June 1.

Dallas' Chef Dee turns up the heat with his new ‘Crossfire' album (dallasobserver.com) — A Dallas-based singer, rapper, and chef known as Chef Dee has just released his fifth album, “Crossfire,” while continuing a monthly live residency at downtown’s Rodeo Bar. The project blends love, conflict, and culinary metaphors, reflecting his journey from Dallas College culinary student to local caterer and performer. Fans can now stream the album and catch his evolving sound on local stages.
5. Friends remember young mother killed by wrong-way driver – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — Dallas police say a wrong-way driver on US-75 near Royal Lane killed 30-year-old mother Ruby Gonzalez and the other driver, leaving her husband critically injured and three children in her parents’ care. Friends are mourning her loss, describing her as the vibrant glue of their group and organizing an online fundraiser to support the family.
