Two Dallas ISD students struck in possible hit-and-run on way to school (fox4news.com) — Two Dallas ISD middle school students were hit in a possible hit-and-run Tuesday morning at Glasgow Drive and Abrams Road in Old East Dallas, but both are expected to be OK. Neighbors say crashes are common there and are urging the city for safer crosswalks, bike lanes, and crossing guards as Dallas ISD Police continue investigating.

2. Dallas to use 'barnacles' on vehicles with unpaid parking tickets (fox4news.com) — Starting August 24, Dallas will clamp down on unpaid parking tickets by attaching bright yellow "barnacle" devices to windshields instead of immediately towing cars. Vehicles with three or more unpaid citations in a calendar year will be targeted, and drivers must pay tickets plus a $100 fee and a refundable $300 hold to unlock and return the device within 24 hours.

3. Flock cameras spark debate in Carrollton amid privacy concerns – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — Carrollton residents are sharply divided over the city's growing network of 67 Flock license plate cameras, with some demanding a pause over privacy and data-sharing worries while others credit them with helping solve crimes. As contracts come up for annual renewal, city leaders say data is stored securely for 30 days, keeping this suburban Dallas debate very much alive.

4. Sophie Cunningham's transgender stance brings rally, news conference ahead of Fever-Wings game Thursday (cbsnews.com) — Rallies and a news conference are planned outside American Airlines Center on Thursday before the Dallas Wings host the Indiana Fever, responding to Fever guard Sophie Cunningham's comments about transgender athletes. The piece details how WNBA players, fans, and league officials are clashing over inclusion, free expression, and how transgender participation in women's sports should be handled.
