City of Mesquite presents the 17th Annual Doggie Splash Day

Mesquite, Texas - Marking a joyful closure to the summer, the City of Mesquite is prepared to present its 17th Annual Doggie Splash Day. This event not only serves as a delightful festivity but also provides an occasion to collect charming visuals or dynamic B-Roll footage. An assortment of activities are scheduled, intended for the enjoyment of both dogs and their handlers.
On Saturday, Aug. 5, the Vanston Pool, located at 2913 Oates Dr. in Mesquite, will be converted into a lively dog retreat from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. With the availability of facilities such as a wading pool, lap pool, and a one-meter diving board, the location is expected to resonate with the pleasant noise of jovial barks and water splashes.
At the heart of this annual event is the element of competition, featuring a variety of contests designed to involve the enthusiastic canine participants. Ranging from the amusing Pet Swim Suit Contest to the amusing Trick or Talent Contest, the high-spirited Paddle Race, and the thrilling Diving Contest, multiple opportunities will be provided for owners to exhibit their dogs’ unique skills and flair.

All dog owners are encouraged to join in, whether that means diving into the pool with their pets, competing for the sought-after awards, or simply reveling in the lively atmosphere.
For the safety and wellbeing of all, attending dogs must provide evidence of current vaccinations and be overseen by a person aged 16 or over. Any dog exhibiting aggressive or antisocial behavior may be requested to leave to uphold the event's amicable environment. Lifeguards will be attentively present to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Entry to this eagerly awaited event is priced at a reasonable $5 for an owner and pet, with an added fee of $2 for each additional pet and $1 for spectators. Those who kindly donate a jar of jelly, peanut butter, or seed butter will be granted a $2 discount. These donations will support the City's laudable Spread the Love initiative, dedicated to feeding the underprivileged children in Mesquite.
