Dallas Hospitals Recognized For Patient Safety, Experience

Dallas-Fort Worth hospitals were recognized by Healthgrades as excelling in at least one of two award categories. The 2019 awards recognized hospitals for patient safety and patient experience.

In a press release, Healthgrades said the awards “recognize the hospitals around the country that make patient safety a top priority and provide an outstanding patient experience.” Overall, 460 hospitals in the United States achieved the Healthgrades “Patient Safety Excellence Award” and 434 hospitals achieved the “Outstanding Patient Experience Award.”

In Dallas-Fort Worth, nine hospitals achieved the patient safety experience award:

Medical City Dallas and Medical City Children's Hospital

Methodist Charlton Medical Center

Methodist Dallas Medical Center

North Central Surgical Center

Baylor Scott & White - Fort Worth

Baylor Surgical Hospital At Fort Worth

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth

Healthgrades says the hospitals that achieved the patient safety award are among the top 10 percent of all short-term acute hospitals that report patient safety data. By Healthgrades’ estimate, nearly 128,000 patient safety incidents could have been avoided if all hospitals performed similarly to the ones recognized for safety.
