Hey, friends. It's Thursday in Dallas and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on the most important things happening in our community today.
But first, today's weather:
A strong afternoon t-storm. High: 75 Low: 45.

Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- WalletHub conducted a study to find the best and worst cities for money management in 2023, as managing money can be challenging despite its importance. They compared over 2,500 cities based on 10 money-management indicators, and Dallas ranked among the worst of the larger cities in the country – No. 53 (out of 66). The study also found that only 56 percent of adults are confident in their personal finance knowledge, and good money management skills are crucial during times of high inflation. (CW33 Dallas)
- Dallas City Council Members and DART officials had a dispute over the use of sales tax money Dallas residents have paid, regarding the construction of the new Silver Line rail transit project linking Plano with Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The Silver Line is a design-build project, and there are concerns over storm drainage, traffic safety, and noise issues for trains running beside homes, causing delays in the project. Despite additional money being available for the project, it is still facing challenges and disputes. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Dallas police announced that Officer Barron Cooper was fired, and Officer Aaron Cagle was suspended for 20 days over separate incidents. Cooper violated several department policies, including using unnecessary force against a citizen and getting involved in an on-duty accident without notifying a supervisor. Cagle was arrested in March 2022 outside of a bar in northwest Dallas and was charged with interference with public duties and public intoxication. (WFAA.com)
