Fireworks Ban In Effect For New Year's Eve

Leave the New Year's fireworks displays to the professionals.

DALLAS, TX -- The Dallas Police and Fire Departments will begin patrolling the city Saturday to step up enforcement of its fireworks ban. The areas that will be patrolled by teams are Central, Southeast, Southwest, and South Central to monitor the possession and use of fireworks, DPD said in a news release.

Each of the four teams will include one Dallas Fire Rescue fire inspector and one police officer.
"DPD and DFR want to remind City of Dallas residents that while fireworks can be fun to watch, they are illegal in the City of Dallas. DPD and DFR is offering this PSA with more information on fireworks and gun safety over the New Year holiday," DPD added.
