Fort Worth Senior Living Community Goes Blue for Longevity
Seniors, Team Members at The Stayton at Museum Way Learn Habits of World's Healthiest People

How do the world's healthiest people add years to their lives? Residents and team members of The Stayton at Museum Way, an area senior living community, are interested in the world’s so-called Blue Zones, places where the people, on average, stay healthier and live longer than the rest of us. The community has studied numerous aspects of the Blue Zones, and, on Tuesday, June 19, they turned their focus to one of the Blue Zone Power 9® healthy lifestyle habits – living life with purpose, which is worth seven extra years, according to research.
Tuesday's workshop included a visit from Elaine Becker, a Blue Zones Project Ambassador. Becker focused her visit on the theme, "Live On Purpose," and shared her thoughts and experiences with the community.
The question at the heart of each Blue Zones workshop is "What do the people who live the longest, healthiest lives do differently from the rest of us?" and, perhaps more importantly, "How can we incorporate those things into our own lives?"

The original Blue Zones, areas of the world with groups of people who, on average live longer and remain healthier, have something to teach about how to achieve such longevity. The Power 9® the group at The Stayton has learned so much about includes living life with purpose, along with moving naturally, taking time to de-stress each day, eating more plants and beans, not overeating, having a glass or two of wine each day, belonging to some sort of faith community and putting family first.
