Friday Brings Severe Weather Potential to North Texas
The greatest threat will be along and north of Highway 380.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin warning the public ahead of potentially severe storms on Friday afternoon through the evening.
According to the alert, the forecast for Thursday is isolated to scattered showers with the highest chances near the Red River during the morning.
Storms are possible across the region throughout the day, with lightning and gusty winds possible with any stronger storms. Otherwise, expect above normal temperatures in the mid-70s and mid-80s to prevail along with breezy southerly winds.

Thursday wind speeds should be between 10-20 mph with gusts of between 20-30 mph.
Conditions take a turn on Friday, when the service predicts strong to severe storms with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes on afternoon through Friday night.

The greatest threat for severe weather will be along and north of U.S. Highway 380. There is still uncertainty in storm coverage Friday afternoon, so residents should continue to check the forecast for updates as confidence increases.
As we look at the forecast next week, the service expects off and on showers and thunderstorms to continue into early next week. Severe storms will be possible on Tuesday.
The threat for flooding will increase over the weekend with each found of storms. Rain chances are between 60-90% on Saturday, lower to between 40-70% on Sunday, and rise again on Monday at 50-70%. There is currently a 60-80% chance of rain on Tuesday.
