Dallas, Texas - In a recent announcement, Frontier Communications revealed its plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Norwalk, Connecticut, to Dallas, Texas's growing Uptown district, Dallas Metro News reported. The company is a major player in telecommunications, offering a range of services including internet, phone, and television to households and small-to-medium-sized businesses in 25 states.

Preliminary indications of Frontier's impending relocation surfaced in early August when the company was weighing the strategic advantages of moving either to Dallas or Tampa, Florida. The decision became definitive on September 13, as confirmed by Frontier's CEO, Nick Jeffery: “It’s official — Dallas is now home base for Building Gigabit America.”

“Moving our headquarters to Dallas makes good business sense given the city is already home to hundreds of our corporate employees and sits in the middle of one of our most important fiber markets. With a fast-growing economy and large, diverse pool of talent, Dallas is quickly becoming one of the nation’s top business cities. We’re proud to be part of it,” said Jeffery in a statement.

Frontier Communications cited several key reasons for its decision to move to Dallas. The relocation is expected to significantly boost both the local and state economies, injecting an estimated $3.8 billion and creating more than 3,000 jobs over the next 10 years.

Other factors in the decision included the opportunity to build a cutting-edge headquarters to attract top talent, streamline its executive leadership team, and expand its fiber network infrastructure throughout Texas.

The move aligns with a growing trend of companies choosing Dallas for its business-friendly environment and central location, further solidifying the city as a popular choice for corporate relocations.

In its latest financial report, Frontier Communications announced an annual revenue of around $5.8 billion for 2022. This places the company at number 28 in the list of North Texas' largest public companies, right behind Grapevine-based GameStop when ranked by financial performance.

As part of its major move to Dallas, Frontier Communications is investing in a 95,000-square-foot office complex in the city's up-and-coming Uptown district. Named "GigaHub," this new space will serve as the central office for the company's executives and a significant portion of its corporate staff.

The GigaHub first captured public attention when it was quietly mentioned in the agenda for a Dallas City Council meeting in August. Frontier aims to have this new office recognized as an Enterprise Zone Project under Texas law, focusing on its property at 1919 McKinney Avenue for this status.

Committed to local job growth, Frontier plans to keep at least 500 jobs at this new Dallas hub. Additionally, around 600 roles will be either maintained or strategically moved from Frontier's existing operations in Allen, Texas, to the new GigaHub. This job consolidation is a key part of Frontier’s broader strategy to return remote employees to physical office spaces, either full-time or part-time, as shared with city officials.

The company expects its future workforce to include both new hires and relocated staff, aiming to complete the transition within a five-year period if all goes as planned. As a demonstration of its commitment to the Dallas community, Frontier is set to spend more than $7 million on expanding and upgrading its new McKinney Avenue location.

While the exact timeline for Frontier’s Dallas move is yet to be disclosed, the initiative underscores both the company's ambitions and Dallas's growing prominence as a hub for corporate innovation and expansion.
