Ghostbusters Spotted Alongside Texas Police Chase

News cameras saw something strange in the neighborhood Monday when a replica Ghostbusters ambulance was seen driving near a police chase.

FORT WORTH, TX — An unexpected sight during a Monday police chase in Fort Worth has social media ablaze. Seen driving alongside police was a van made to resemble the timeless Ghostbusters ambulance.

As it turns out, the car belongs to an organization called DFW Ghostbusters. The non-profit organization participates in community service and volunteer opportunities in North Texas, according to its website.

A member of the fan group verified on Facebook that the car belongs to the organization, writing "...Yes, that is one of ours, and we totally didn't do it! We promise!"

KDFW evening anchor Steve Eagar was blasted on social media for failing to notice the odd sight. Taking it in stride, Eagar issued an apology.

"HOW DID I MISS THE GHOSTBUSTERS!!!" he wrote. "A couple of viewers have expressed their extreme disappointment in me for not noticing today's high speed chase whizzing by this awesome Ghostbusters vehicle. Enough said folks. My head is hanging in shame. I promise if a huge Mr. Stay Puft had stumbled onto Interstate 35, I would have noticed! And I promise an oversight like this will NEVER happen again."

The chase began Monday in Fort Worth when 31-year-old Zachary Medina failed to pull over for a traffic stop, KDFW reported. The chase reached speeds of 85 miles-per-hour and finally ended in Waxahachie.

Spike strips laid by police damaged the tires of the reportedly stolen GMC Terrain Medina was driving. The station reported Medina had an outstanding warrant for parole violation for possession of meth.

Fort Worth Fire Department joined in on the action by premiering a new Station 18 Patch.

And even nearby Irving Police Department hopped on the wagon, offering up an almost unnerving Bill Murray gif.

Next time we see a police chase in DFW, we know who we're gonna call.
