Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The Historical Freedman's Town Tenth Street neighborhood has been devastated by a series of fires. The fires have put many of its historically significant buildings and homes in jeopardy. Community members organized a press conference to bring attention to the issue and promote protective measures, holding signs to raise awareness. (Dallasweekly)
- Love Island is seeking charming, authentic Dallas singles who are ready to compete for love and money. Contestants must find a romantic match to qualify for a shot at the $100,000 prize. The upcoming season is currently casting, and singles will be put in villas and subjected to challenges and games that require them to collaborate. (CW33 Dallas)
- To reduce costs and address low voter turnout and accessibility issues, Dallas County will offer fewer polling locations for the upcoming May elections. The number of centers will be reduced from 470 to 369. Following approval from the Commissioners Court, 101 locations will be closed in the move, according to Elections Administrator Michael Scarpello. (The Dallas Morning News)

- Beyond the hundreds of pets in the shelter, there are even more available for adoption in foster care. Prospective adopters can contact their foster parents online to start the adoption process and arrange a meet and greet, which includes all the perks of a shelter adoption plus no fees. For more information, interested parties can visit BeDallas90.org/pets and select the "In Foster" filter option. (Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center via Facebook)
- On Mar. 25, the Dallas Zoo will be hosting a special scavenger hunt presented by KinderUS, where visitors can search for clues around the zoo while learning about their favorite egg-laying animals — and potentially even seeing a surprise guest. Anyone confident in their Easter egg-hunting abilities should come join the fun between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Dallas Zoo via Instagram)
