Texas has ranked among the best states for taxpayer return on investment in 2019, according to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub. The organization used 30 metrics to compare the quality and efficiency of state-government services across five categories: Education, health, safety, economy, and infrastructure and pollution, WalletHub said in a news release.

The report was compiled using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Council for Community and Economic Research, and Federal Bureau of Investigation, among other sources.

Texas was ranked seventh, behind Missouri and ahead of Georgia. The best state was New Hampshire and the worst was Hawaii.
