Man died while in Dallas PD custody, two ongoing investigations
Dallas PD and the Dallas County District Attorney's Office have launched separate investigations into the tragic incident.

Dallas, Texas - The Dallas Police Department is currently undertaking an in-depth investigation following the unexpected passing of Xzavier Franklin, 39, who tragically died post-detention. He was the key suspect in an ongoing murder case under thorough scrutiny.
Franklin became entangled with law enforcement on the early morning of June 21, when a routine traffic stop resulted in his arrest. Subsequently, the 39-year-old was transported to the Dallas Police Department headquarters for questioning linked to the ongoing investigation.
As the story unfolded, the Dallas police released body-camera footage that indicated Franklin's health was on the decline post-interrogation, during which he suffered from recurring bouts of illness. The police have confirmed that Franklin had expressed his discomfort and immediate need for medical attention.

The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department intervened in this escalating health crisis, ferrying Franklin to a nearby hospital. Regrettably, despite their efforts to save him, Franklin passed away from his yet-to-be-diagnosed condition just a few hours later.
This incident represents the second instance this year of a death in custody involving the Dallas Police Department. Previously in January, Manuel Najera, a 43-year-old man, tragically experienced a fatal cardiac arrest and passed away shortly after being taken into custody.

An autopsy was performed on June 23 to determine the exact cause of Franklin's death, but the results are yet to be made public by the investigating authorities.
