North Texas Could See Isolated Thunderstorms Over Fourth of July Weekend

Most locations will remain dry.

The Fourth of July holiday weekend will definitely be a seasonably warm one in North Texas. Now, the question is whether some areas will also see early evening thunderstorms on Saturday.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Thursday.

According to the forecast, the seasonably warm weather the area has been seeing lately will continue through the holiday weekend with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees.

The bigger news is that, while most locations will remain dry, there is a chance for isolated afternoon and early evening thunderstorms each day through Saturday across eastern and central portions of North and Central Texas.

The NWS is warning residents to take care when enjoying time out on the lake this holiday weekend. Stay weather aware, know the forecast in advance, have a way to receive weather information, while boating, and come ashore if weather looks threatening.
