Officer Arrested; 3 Shot: Weekend Crime Roundup

One police officer jailed, two shooting victims dead, and shooters at large in this weekend's crime roundup.

DALLAS, TX — Police in Dallas are working to investigate three shootings and an arrest that occurred over the weekend.

On Friday, April 6, police responded to a shooting call around 9:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Early Dawn Trail. Adan Carbajal, 31, was found dead from several gunshot wounds.

Police are looking for information about this incident and Carbajal's shooter.

Saturday Shooting

Just after 5:00 a.m. Saturday, police were sent to the 3300 block of Worth Street after someone reported an injury had occurred. When police arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he or she remains in critical condition.

Police are investigating the shooting but have not yet determined where the actual shooting occurred.

The shooter's description was not available.


Officer's Arrest

A Dallas Police officer was arrested Saturday for Family Violence Assault and Interference with an Emergency Call. The officer, Richard Council, was a 3-year veteran with the department and is assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division, police said.

Council is on administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation.


Sunday Homicide

One man died after being shot Sunday evening in the 8000 block of Rothington Road in East Dallas.

Police said the victim, who remains unidentified, was taken to a nearby hospital after 8:17 p.m. Sunday but later died from his injuries.
