Patch Launches New North Texas Sites, Mayor Program: Sign Up Here
Users in Plano, Arlington, Irving, Coppell and McKinney-Frisco can now sign up for area-specific newsletters and breaking news alerts.

Patch has been working hard to bring you top quality news since our Dallas site launched in October. In that time, we've covered hundreds of important news stories including the tragic death of Richardson's Sherin Mathews, unsolved murders, government controversies and major car crashes.
While that's the good news, we're here to announce even better news today. You can now interact with Patch in new ways. Within the last week, Patch has launched new sites in Arlington, Irving, and McKinney-Frisco. This launch adds to our existing sites of Plano, Coppell and Dallas, which you hopefully already frequent.
So you might be asking yourself, "What's the difference between a Dallas newsletter and an Irving newsletter?"

Well, let me tell you. We're expanding so that you can receive localized news stories that affect you, your life and your town.
For example, a breaking news story in Irving might not directly affect Dallas residents. If you're signed up for Irving newsletters, you'll receive an alert as soon as that story breaks.

The same goes for each of our more than 2,000 nationwide sites.
Patch's mission is to bring you hyperlocal news. With the addition of our newest sites, we will be able to take a better look at the nitty-gritty parts of news that affect readers in both large and small-scale ways.
That means users in McKinney-Frisco might see a story about a local pothole that an Arlington resident simply doesn't care about. If you're signed up for Arlington newsletters, you won't be bothered with McKinney-Frisco news that doesn't affect you.
But don't worry — if a major news events happens in North Texas, you'll still be in the know.
