Prevent Car Break-Ins This Holiday Season With These Tips
There have been more than 14,617 car break-ins this year in Dallas.
DALLAS, TX -- The Dallas Police Department has released a video and series of tips about how to avoid having your vehicle broken into this holiday season. So far there have been 14,617 car break-ins year to date in Dallas, DPD wrote in a news release. That represents a .63 percent increase from last year.
Tips to prevent car break-ins:
- Double check to make sure the doors are locked
- If possible, don’t leave valuables in the car
- If valuables must be left in the car, hide them
- Don’t hide valuables with strangers around
- Invest in a car alarm
- Park in a well-lit area
