Ryan Van Wagenen - "Philanthropy is Essential in 2018 and Beyond"
Giving and Being Philanthropic are Essential in 2018 and Beyond. Article compiled by Ryan Van Wagenen.

Since retiring, Ryan Van Wagenen has made the move from Cottonwood Heights to Fort Worth and is loving the lifestyle. One of his favorite parts about Texas are the philanthropic attributes in the people. Not only does Texas have some of the best food and government policy, but the people are amazing! In the world today, everybody is talking about change! Not just the minuscule ones, but the drastic, powerful changes, which will take people and the nation by storm and bring out the holistic appeal everyone wants in life. A lot of people are willing to really work hard to obtain that change, by standing up, cooperating with each other and through giving and being a Philanthropic.
Being philanthropic and helping others will be important in 2018. It does not have to be warded off in the coming years, the day after or just because it is too late to begin now. It doesn’t entail losing concentration towards the aspirations to be obtained, and straying away from booming successfully. It does just means knowing the art of settling and accommodating a way of life that lets you submerge yourself in the run of economic solidity, but to know and appreciate that there are a lot of people out there way challenged than some individuals are. And as human beings, it must be their right to help people and be philanthropy.
Ryan Van Wagenen strongly feels that philanthropy is a love for people and really all humankind. Being philanthropic must be basically a lifestyle, most essentially to people who are deprived or who are poor. The aim of philanthropy is to enhance the wellbeing of humanity through preventing and addressing social issues. This is different from charity, as the latter focuses on getting rid of the suffering due to societal issues, while philanthropy focuses on getting rid of social issues. The notion is to instill the reality that giving back can’t end at giving or charitable causes, better the inflection towards philanthropy, greater will be the social problem handled.

According to Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Manipal Global Education Service, “Philanthropy is a duty or responsibility. It means that everyone contributes to the better social good and leaves a world behind that is much better than the world that the previous generations gave you.” True and real philanthropy starts as a standard of living, and not an inevitable conclusion as a one-time venture that makes a giving cause really philanthropic.
It is important to give and be a philanthropy this 2018 as it gives lots of opportunities. It supports endeavors and projects which might be controversial and too unpopular to get the widespread support of the whole community or the government. Because of this, philanthropy is an extremely essential part of a self-governing society. A philanthropist doesn’t answer to the community or to the government, so are capable of freely choosing the projects and people to get their support or help.

Ryan Van Wagenen Believes in America, It's Time to Give of Our Time and Resources
America is definitely one of the world’s most powerful countries in terms of trade, economics and politics. Its size, in comparison to the population, shows that there’s an abundance of land and natural resources it has to offer. Compared to many other countries around the globe, the United States is a rich land. With great power, as the saying goes, comes with great responsibility. Therefore, it is about time for the people in America to share its time and resources to those in need.
Many individuals are at a place in life where they are just tired of thinking mostly about themselves and wanting to make a difference. They desire to impact the world around them. Some simply want to share even a piece of what they have to those who have nothing. Regardless of how small or big the difference a person is trying to make, it all comes down to how they allocate their resources.
There are various resources that can be used when one is striving to make a difference. It could be in through one’s talent, time or money. Among these, one important resource that you can never take back is time. This is also the most valuable gift you could ever give someone.
It is a known fact that many Americans feel more time-constrained than ever. Their waking hours are spent largely working, with precious minutes remaining for the day-to-day to-dos like cleaning, exercising and socializing with family and friends. For many, time has become an invaluable resource, even more precious than money. Unfortunately, people’s perspective of time as a scarce resource decreases their willingness to share or give time to others.
However, many studies shown that helping others and reaching out to those in need can essentially increase one’s feelings of abundance in time. It can also alleviate their perceived ‘time famine’. Several experts have even stated that spending time on other people can make them feel like they’ve don’t a lot with their time. This will make them feel like they have even more time than they thought.
Those who give their time and resources to others are more likely to feel they have more and less time constrained. They are able to complete many of their responsibilities and tasks. Therefore, in America, when a person feels time constrained, he or she should be more generous with his/her time.

Every person has different things that consume their time. But, it is still important to remember that there are still just twenty-four hours a day for everyone. When this fact is acknowledged, people start shifting their understanding of time as more of a valuable tangible resource than just an abstract idea. When such realization is combined with the knowledge that some activities give them energy while others drain it from them, they can better allocate their time in more productive manners.
With so little time in the day, we have to prioritize what is most important to us. Ryan Van Wagenen expounds in his beliefs and love for God, his children and his grandchildren out in Cottonwood Heights. Van Wagenen says that when we put our trust in God and in helping others through philanthropy, the other parts of our life get better. We were watching the NBA game today and Lebron James is an impressive specimen. It is also impressive that although he is able to so successful on the court that he spends a great deal of time off the court in philanthropy.
A very underrated aspect of Lebron James greatness. It’s extremely rare for a player to live up to all the hype (and MORE). LBJ has become everything he was expected to be in high school. In all aspects...play on the court, marketing, business, philanthropy, etc

It is so impressive to see a lot of these NBA athletes being so charitable and making philanthropy a part of their every day life. Watching the game last night, one could not help but notice J.J. Watt at the Western Final game.

Regardless of who the person is, every person has time and important resources to give. Though one may think he or she is lacking, there is always an individual who has nothing and will benefit from whatever you could give. Ryan loves connecting with new people and thinking about new ways to be philanthropic.
