Sister Of Sherin Mathews To Live With Relatives In Houston

RICHARDSON, TX — The 4-year-old sister of Sherin Mathews has been moved to live with relatives in Houston, according to FOX4. The girl is the biological daughter of Sini and Wesley Mathews, who have both been jailed in connection to the October death of their adopted daughter.

The 4-year-old daughter has been in foster care since Wesley was first arrested on Oct. 9. An Oct. 23 custody hearing for the child was postponed to Nov. 13 to give Wesley time to obtain a civil attorney, but he was arrested the following day after he told police a new story of the night she disappeared. The Nov. 13 hearing was rescheduled to Nov. 29, but Sini was arrested on Nov. 16 for child endangerment.

Sini was arrested after detectives determined she and Wesley left 3-year-old Sherin alone at the family's residence while the couple went to dinner with their biological daughter the night of Friday, Oct. 6. Read Sini Mathews' arrest affidavit here.

Reports say Sini was allowed to visit her daughter once-per-week until she was arrested. Both of the girls' parents remain in police custody at the Dallas County Jail. Officials still have not determined Sherin's cause of death.
