Cold Weather Ahead: Expect Highs Of 61 And Lows Of 40 Overnight
Rain mixed with sleet was reported in areas across North Texas Friday. Cold weather will persist through the weekend.

DALLAS, TX — North Texas will continue to feel a cool-down through the weekend. Temperatures are expected to peak at 61 Saturday, and will drop as low as 40 Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunday will reach a very pleasant high of 76.
Sleet was reported in some areas of DFW Friday as a small band of showers moved through the region. People in Wise County as well as in the cities of Denton, Decatur and Sanger reported sightings of rain mixed with sleet. The wintery mix is not expected to return to North Texas any time soon, but Thursday brings a slight chance of rain in the evening.
Sensitive outdoor plants can be damaged or killed by low overnight temperatures. Automatic sprinkler systems should also be turned off to avoid creating ice patches on nearby roads, driveways and sidewalks in case of a freeze.
