Dallas, Texas - The U.S. News and World Report presented the 2024 Best Colleges in Texas undergraduate rankings, as per Dallas Metro News. This analysis used various criteria such as academic excellence, graduate debt levels, and student retention rates.

The study included numerous public and private higher education institutions. Three universities from the Dallas-Fort Worth area have achieved top positions in the Texas rankings.

Out of the 87 institutions analyzed, Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas ranked fourth in Texas. It follows Rice University in Houston, the University of Texas at Austin, and Texas A&M University in College Station. Additionally, SMU holds a national rank of 89th, a position it shares with Temple University in Philadelphia, Fordham University in New York, and the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Texas Christian University (TCU) secured the sixth rank in Texas. Nationally, TCU holds the 98th position alongside the University of Oregon, Rutgers University-Camden, and the University of San Diego.

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) achieved the seventh rank in Texas. Nationally, it stands at 115th alongside various other American universities.

The University of Texas at Austin remains the top public university in Texas and ranks ninth among public universities nationally. It also moved from the 38th position to the 32nd in the national ranking, comparing both public and private institutions.

“UT’s continued upward rankings trajectory is a reflection of the exceptional talent we continue to attract; our commitment to unmatched academic, research, and campus experiences that are life-changing and affordable; and the opportunities that exist in Austin as an innovation and cultural hub,” stated President Jay Hartzell, as reported by NBC DFW.

“Many of our top-ranked programs in computer science, artificial intelligence, engineering, design, business, and psychology are major contributors to the U.S. economy and position our graduates for tremendous career opportunities, where they can have significant impact and change the world.”
