Teenager charged with murder of Dallas security guard
17-year-old charged with murder in connection with Westchester Drive incident

Dallas, Texas - In a recent incident at Preston Center West, 17-year-old Antwon Osborne has been formally charged with murder by a grand jury. This charge arises from the fatal shooting of a Dallas security guard in late May.
The incident took place in a garage on the 8200 block of Westchester Drive. Officers arriving at the scene found a male victim with a gunshot injury. He was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility but, regrettably, did not survive. The victim was later identified by the Dallas Police Department as 34-year-old Adalberto Santiago.
Osborne was apprehended by the Dallas police in relation to this event. As information became available, it indicated that the alleged perpetrator had engaged in several vehicle break-ins within the garage. When confronted by the security guard, a confrontation occurred, which tragically escalated to the guard being shot. The assailant then fled the scene.

Security footage corroborating the event has been shared with the public. The video shows a gold sedan with the security guard attempting to hold onto the driver’s door, quickly moving out of a parking spot in the garage's upper level. Shortly after, the vehicle is involved in an accident, and the guard can be observed running after it, before collapsing. The car then leaves the scene. In a notable development, the suspect's car was found around 5 p.m. on a subsequent Friday in a business parking lot on the 2200 block of North Cockrell Hill Road.
Court records from August 1 confirm Osborne’s charge. The community has been profoundly impacted by the event, prompting discussions on safety protocols and highlighting the risks security staff face in their roles. The situation is ongoing, and both the legal community and the general public are keenly observing as the case progresses towards trial.
