Texas Man Who Beat 4-Year-Old To Death Sentenced To Life
Charles Wayne Phifer, 36, was sentenced to life in prison for beating his girlfriend's daughter to death in 2016.

DALLAS, TX — A 36-year-old man was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for brutally beating 4-year-old Leiliana Wright to death in 2016. Charles Wayne Phifer was found guilty of capital murder Monday in Dallas County, CBS DFW reported. Wright had at least 30 bruises on her back and was black and blue all over body when she was found, the Dallas Morning News reported.
“This is the worst case that I’ve ever seen. What you did was unfathomable, inhuman and savage. Life in prison seems insufficient.. hanging a little girl in closet is savage.. you should die in a locked closet," Judge Robert Burns said following the sentencing, according to CBS.
Wright's mother Jeri Quezada, 33, pleaded guilty to felony injury to a child and will be sentenced to 50 years in prison as part of a plea deal, CBS added.
