Texas Women’s Foundation Awards $900,000 to Support Women and Families Across North Texas
Total impact is more than $115 million since 1985
Through its 2026 Community Grant Cycle, Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF) has awarded $900,000 to 25 nonprofit organizations working to remove the barriers to economic security, stability and success for Texas women, their families and their futures.
As part of the annual grant cycle, two special groups of supporters selected nonprofits to champion through their annual giving and engagement. Texas Women’s Foundation’s Board Alumnae awarded $40,000 to Shared Housing Center for housing and wraparound services from the Virginia B. Whitehill endowed fund. TXWF’s Nineteen network, named in honor of the organization’s 19 diverse and determined founders, awarded $40,000 to The Family Place for its Children’s Educational Service program.
All 25 grant recipients were recognized and celebrated at a special reception on September 25.

Karen Hughes White, Texas Women’s Foundation president and CEO, said, “Forty-one years ago, 19 dynamic women came together to empower women’s philanthropy and to invest in organizations doing critical work in their communities. Now, four decades later, that commitment has grown to more than $115 million invested in Texas women, their families and their futures. These incredible nonprofit organizations are removing barriers for Texas women and their families and creating opportunities in the areas of healthcare, childcare, education, workforce development and more. We’re proud to support them as we work together to build Strong Women and a Better Texas for all.”
