Three-vehicle crash in Dallas leaves 1 dead and at least 3 hospitalized – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — A deadly three-vehicle crash at Wadsworth Drive and Great Trinity Forest Way in Dallas left one person dead and at least three others hospitalized Sunday evening. Dallas police and Fire-Rescue responded around 5 p.m., and while no arrests have been made, investigators are still working to determine what happened and the conditions of those injured.
   

2. Jose Pantoja-Morales Indicted After Dallas ISD Police Officer Shot (irvingweekly.com) — A man accused of shooting a Dallas ISD police officer with the officer's own gun during an August encounter along LBJ Freeway has now been federally indicted. Prosecutors say Jose Santiago Pantoja-Morales faces up to 15 years on a firearms charge, while Dallas and federal agencies continue handling the case and the officer recovers after emergency treatment at Parkland.
   

3. Video shows car slamming into North Dallas auto repair shop – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — An early-morning crash sent a car plunging off Dickerson Drive into Wayne Motors, a North Dallas auto repair shop, mangling a guardrail and scorching the building's front. Surveillance video shows bystanders pulling the driver from the wreck before everyone fled, and Dallas police say they're still investigating, though fortunately no injuries were reported.
   

4. Flood watch for North Texas for Wednesday and Thursday caused by intense rain (star-telegram.com) — Dallas residents are under a National Weather Service flood watch from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday early afternoon, with heavy rain and dangerous runoff possible on roads, creeks, and low-lying areas. The story explains how to stay safe if flooding develops, including driving tips, when to evacuate, and what to do if your car hydroplanes in heavy rain.
   

5. Tropical moisture from Hurricane Polo's remnants expected for Texas this week (star-telegram.com) — Heavy tropical moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Polo is expected to spread from West Texas into the Dallas metro by Wednesday, bringing several inches of rain and a risk of flash flooding. With already saturated ground in parts of the region, forecasters warn that midweek storms could quickly overwhelm drainage and urge Texans to prepare for a very wet stretch.
