Watch: Milk Tanker Drives Off Highway In Dramatic Video

The Grand Prairie Fire Department has released surveillance video showing a tanker truck carrying milk driving off a highway. The video, which has been viewed more than 39,000 times on Facebook as of Wednesday afternoon, shows the truck racing off a bridge on IH 30/MacArthur Tuesday morning.

"Grand Prairie PD’s investigation determined the driver fell asleep, allowing the truck to leave the roadway," Grand Prairie FD said on Facebook. "The driver faces a charge of failure to maintain proper control. "

The tanker was fueled by compressed natural gas which leaked into the air after the crash; a hazardous incident was not present, Grand Prairie FD added. Evacuations were not necessary.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital and treated for minor abrasions.
