Workshop organized in Fort Worth to help future entrepreneurs
The four-hour event aimed to demystify the complexities of the development process, focusing on several relevant topics.

Fort Worth - In a joint initiative with the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, the city of Fort Worth launched its very first Development 101 workshop last month, Dallas Metro News reported.
The city's press release highlighted that the workshop was attended by local entrepreneurs and business owners. The four-hour event aimed to demystify the complexities of the development process, focusing on several relevant topics.
The city officials creatively presented a theoretical situation involving 'Bob,' a character aiming to start a bistro. This storyline shed light on the possible steps and procedures involved in opening a business. Through this depiction, attendees received a comprehensive guide, simplifying the intricate development process.

“Instead of a dry talk about zoning or permits, we wanted to draw the audience in with a story of sorts,” said Daunte Rushton, development support administrator. “Giving them Bob to follow helped us explain the importance of each development area step when trying to open a business.”
DHI Communities representative Trevor Mendes, from D.R. Horton Company, praised the initiative. "I am grateful for the chance to attend this impressive and enlightening event. I'm excited to see what the next workshop brings."

Reflecting on the first session, D.J. Harrell, director of development services, expressed his satisfaction. "As this was our premiere workshop, we didn't know what the outcome would be, but judging by the strong attendance and the active participation of the audience, we feel it was a success."
The press release also indicated that updates about the next Development 101 workshop would be shared via the city's social media channels and official website as they become available. In the meantime, the educational material from the workshop is now available online for further reference.
