Xplor® Preschool & School Age Care in Allen Hosts Ladybug Release

Students celebrated the environment by releasing 1,500 beneficial bugs in their schoolyard

Students at Xplor Preschool & School Age Care in Allen have caught the environmental bug! On April 20, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 1,500 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. As part of the day’s activities, students also created biodegradable bird feeders and art from recycled materials. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Xplor teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
