• Denton residents will see Atmos gas rates increase on Oct. 1 (keranews.org) — Denton residents will see their Atmos Energy gas bills jump starting Oct. 1, after the City Council unanimously approved a settlement that raises average residential bills by about $13.37 a month. City leaders called the increase “incredibly high,” but were advised that rejecting the deal could lead to costly legal battles and potentially even higher rates set by state regulators.

• Major infrastructure projects advance as Cole Ranch takes shape - Cross Timbers Gazette Southern Denton County Flower Mound (crosstimbersgazette.com) — Major growth is coming to southwest Denton as construction ramps up on the 3,100-acre Cole Ranch development, bringing thousands of homes plus new utilities, roads, schools, and green space. City-backed water, wastewater, and Loop 288 projects, along with gas well closures and a future CoServ substation, aim to support long-term Denton growth and relieve congestion citywide.

• Northlake resident awarded one of Korea's highest honors - Cross Timbers Gazette Southern Denton County Flower Mound (crosstimbersgazette.com) — A Northlake resident in southern Denton County, Sherri Steward, has received one of South Korea’s highest civilian honors for decades of work honoring Korean War veterans. Living just up the road from Denton, she’s helped lead memorial projects, support families of the fallen, and recently published a book on bringing a missing Texas soldier home, highlighting deep local ties to Korean War history.
