2 Adults, 1 Child Dead In Triple Homicide in SE Austin: Police

The victims were found inside a home on Abbey Anne Lane after police were told by a family member they had not heard from their relative.

AUSTIN, TX — Three people were found dead during a welfare check at a home in southeast Austin.

Officers arrived at the home on the 5800 block of Abbey Anne Lane after receiving a call from a concerned family member shortly after 11 p.m., police said. Officers called out for the owners of the home but no one responded.

Police found one person on the floor who was unresponsive and forced their way into the home, finding three people dead. Police have not identified the victims but said that two adults and one minor under the age of 17 were in the home. They did not indicate how the three victims were related.

Police said in a media briefing shortly after 2 a.m. that investigators had just started looking into the deaths. A spokesman told reporters that officers were called after a family member said that they had not heard from a relative for a period of time. The spokesman said that police do not believe there is any danger to the general public.

As of Tuesday morning, there was no further information about the motive for the crime or about the identity of the victims.
