The shooting is the latest violent incident at Terminal 6, which has gained a reputation as the 6th Street bar that arguably attracts the most acts of violence. In July, two other people — also a man and a woman — sustained serious injuries following a shooting. Medics described the male victim's injuries as critical, life-threatening injuries and the woman sustained wounds described as potentially life-threatening.

The following month, a man died after being shot along the 600 block of Sabine Street near East 6th Street. The shooting victim, a man in his 30s, sustained critical injuries before succumbing to his wounds at a hospital, medics reported at the time.
