After Weekend Rains, Austin Region Back To Hot And Dry This Week
After much-welcomed rain this weekend helped cool things off, we'll be back to the upper 90s without further precipitation. :(

AUSTIN, TX — Hot and dry. If that's the way you like your weather, then you're in for paradise this week. After weekend rains that extended into Monday, we'll be back to normal — or what we in Central Texas have come to accept as normal — with temperatures in the high 90s with nary a sign of precipitation.
But it beats the month's-worth triple-digit heat experienced prior to this weekend's rain.
This week's forecast suggests that the rain many of us enjoyed this past weekend (and people in some parts well into Monday) are now a thing of the past. Some people might view this hot-and-dry trend as a welcome one, particularly residents of Cedar Park where 1,000 households reportedly lost power Saturday at the peak of the but potent storms.

To be sure, the rain was welcome given the cooling effect it had in the region. Needless to say, the added rain also is invaluable to flora and fauna while helping raise the aquifer level. But many are happy it's over. The aftermath of the rain yielded cooler — one might say delightfully nippy — weather in its wake, with gusts of up to 20 miles per hour whipping around amid a low of 75 degrees by evening to boot.
In a word, it was delightful.
