Ascension Seton Southwest celebrates 20 years

In the midst of the pandemic, like most healthcare facilities, our attention at Ascension Seton Southwest has been focused on safety, prevention, security and reassurance for our patients, staff and community. However, it’s important not to forget the celebrations and milestones that happen everyday. May marks a major milestone at Ascension Seton Southwest. This month as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of providing the best possible healthcare to those who live and work in southwest Travis County, we also pay tribute to our healthcare associates on the frontlines during this pandemic and for the past 20 years.

Ascension Seton Southwest opened on May 8, 2000, and since that day, our hospital has established a culture of caring with the perfect blend of compassion, understanding and excellence in healthcare. It has been an honor serving our community’s healthcare needs and it certainly would not be possible without our doctors, nurses, associates, volunteers, and community partners. We are proud of our physicians who continue to employ new technology and techniques. Our commitment to compassionate, personalized care is clearly demonstrated by our nurses, support staff, and volunteers.

As we reflect on the past 20 years, our achievements include the recently enhanced radiology program with a new (CT) computed tomography system, along with outpatient radiology, Xray, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, and cardiac CTs. Last year we opened a 17 bed unit for medical surgical care, additional services offered include minimally-invasive robotic surgeries, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecologic care and gastrointestinal services. Ascension Seton Southwest offers a full-service ED, including Dell Children’s pediatric care, Dell Children’s Pediatric Rehabilitation, Sports Performance Services, two pools for aquatic therapy and a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

We are proud of our safety record and high experience scores from our trusted patients. Ascension Seton Southwest was recently recognized by national healthcare research leader Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC) for excellence in healthcare. We were honored to be awarded in 2020, 5-Star Inpatient Services for Overall Hospital Rating, and 5 Star Emergency Services for Overall Quality of Care.

Our 20th anniversary is a chance to reflect on the progress we have made and the life changing work that happens everyday at Ascension Seton Southwest. We’ve truly created something special, providing the highest-quality, safest patient care for the communities we serve.
